Our Purpose
Our main objectives are to promote and protect the interests of our members, while acting as a clear channel of communication between local businesses, public authorities and other relevant organisations.
We have been representing the needs and voice of the business community in the Epping Forest District since 1948. As one of the oldest business organisations in Essex, we are proud of our long-standing role and our continued growth in both membership and diversity.
Join The Chamber
If you have a business in or around the Epping Forest District, you are warmly invited to join us and become part of a supportive and active business community.
Our Members
Our members are based throughout the Epping Forest District and range from sole traders to large companies.
They represent a wide variety of sectors including retail, banking, media, office services, travel, construction and professional services such as accountancy, legal services, surveying, estate agency and financial services, among many others.
Events & Community Involvement
We actively organise and collaborate on local business events, networking opportunities and social activities, including quizzes and outdoor events.
Many of these events are run in collaboration with our associate charity, The Amanda Byatt Foundation, whose valuable work supports communities across the district.
How We Are Run
The day to day activities of the Chamber are managed by the Executive Committee. The committee is made up of elected officers, a secretary and co-opted representatives from other organisations. All elected officers are volunteers who run local businesses themselves.
The Executive Committee meets monthly, usually on the first Monday of each month. If this falls on a bank holiday, the meeting takes place on the second Monday. Meetings cover a full agenda, including topics raised by our members.
The Annual General Meeting is usually held in May, where committee members are elected for the coming year.
