We are a heritage railway charity preserving historic trains and providing rail experiences, events and education.

Epping Ongar Railway is a heritage railway charity dedicated to preserving and operating historic railway stock along the former London Underground line between Epping and Ongar in Essex. The railway is run with the support of volunteers and enthusiasts who work to maintain historic locomotives, carriages and infrastructure while sharing the region’s railway heritage with the public.

Visitors can enjoy heritage train journeys, special events and seasonal experiences throughout the year. The railway also provides educational opportunities, allowing visitors to learn about railway history, engineering and the role rail transport has played in shaping local communities.
