At the Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce, we’re proud to announce a new partnership with the Essex Police Business Crime Team to offer a free service to local businesses. This initiative is designed to help protect your premises and reduce the risk of commercial burglaries and robberies, which have unfortunately been on the rise.
Alarming Rise in Business Crime
Recent figures highlight the need for increased crime prevention:
- Business Robbery: Up 47.5% year-to-date compared to 2023.
- Business Burglary: Up 2.5%.
These numbers, provided by Analytics 4 Everyone, underscore the importance of protecting your business against potential criminal activity.
What Does the Business Crime Team Offer?
Victims of business-related crime can now access in-person site assessments from a member of the Essex Police Business Crime Team. These assessments will:
- Identify vulnerabilities at your premises.
- Provide a range of solutions tailored to any budget, from simple security enhancements to more robust systems.
- Discuss existing and recommended colleague procedures to ensure a secure, proactive, and well-organized workplace.
The support doesn’t end there. The team draws from guidance provided by the National Business Crime Centre and the latest Secured by Design commercial brochure, giving your business the tools it needs to minimize the risk of crime.
Over 800 Businesses Supported Since 2022
This invaluable service has been helping businesses across Essex since February 2022, with over 800 businesses already benefitting from the Business Crime Team’s support. Whether you’re a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) or a multi-national corporation, this service is available to all business types and sizes.
