At the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT), our mission extends far beyond providing critical, life-saving care. We believe that empowering our community with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively in emergencies is equally vital. This is why we’re thrilled to announce our latest initiative—a series of instructional films designed to teach essential life-saving techniques, starting with CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).

Why CPR Matters

In an emergency, every second counts. Sudden cardiac arrests can strike without warning, and when they do, immediate CPR can double or even triple a person’s chances of survival. However, many people feel uncertain about how to perform CPR correctly, or even if they should step in at all. Our goal at EHAAT is to remove this hesitation by providing clear, accessible, and practical instruction to everyone in our community.

A Collaborative Effort with the Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce

We are incredibly proud to partner with the Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce in this life-saving endeavor. As a cornerstone of local business and community engagement, the Chamber plays a crucial role in bringing together diverse sectors of society. This collaboration allows us to extend our reach, ensuring that more people in our area are equipped with the skills they need to make a difference.

The CPR Instructional Films: What to Expect

Our instructional films are designed to be easy to follow, breaking down the CPR process into manageable steps. Whether you’re a complete beginner or just need a refresher, these films provide the guidance needed to act confidently in a critical situation.

Each film covers:

  • The Basics of CPR: Learn the fundamental steps of CPR, including chest compressions and rescue breaths.
  • How to Recognize an Emergency: Understand the signs of a cardiac arrest and when to take action.
  • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED): Discover how to use an AED, a crucial tool that can restore a normal heart rhythm during a cardiac arrest.

These films are available online, making them accessible to everyone at any time. We encourage businesses, schools, and community groups to share these resources widely, ensuring that as many people as possible are prepared to respond in an emergency.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Life-Saving Education

While our current focus is on CPR, this is just the beginning. We plan to expand our educational resources to cover a broader range of emergency response skills, including first aid for choking, managing severe bleeding, and responding to strokes.

Get Involved

We invite all members of the Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce and the broader community to get involved. Watch the films, share them with your networks, and consider organizing a CPR training session at your workplace or community center. Together, we can create a safer, more resilient community where everyone has the potential to save a life.

At EHAAT, we are committed to not only being there when it matters most but also to empowering you to be a hero in your own right. Thank you to the Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce for partnering with us on this important initiative. Together, we can make a lasting impact—one life at a time.
